About the event

Tell Me Why is an event that brings together religious leaders for structured interfaith conversation with the goal of engaging honestly and generously with the questions that are at the core of every major religion.  The conversation will be focused on three broad topics.

Participating leaders are invited to come prepared to discuss their beliefs under each of these three themes:

  • The Afterlife: What comes after death? Is there judgment, transformation, reunion, or release?

  • Human Nature & Suffering: Are human beings fundamentally good, fallen, or in process? Why do we suffer?

  • Sacred Text & Authority: How does your tradition determine what is true and binding? Who interprets and how?

The afternoon will move from a structured panel discussion to small-group dialogue, giving students the chance to sit with these questions alongside leaders who have thought deeply about them and with peers who may believe differently than they do.
